What does day-to-day life as a Plant Accountant at WCC look like?

The Plant Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the financial records for the Tolleson, AZ plant. This involves month-end journal entries as well as working with the Plant General Manager to create and manage an Annual Operating Budget. Additionally, this person will be responsible for receiving raw materials, inventory cycle-counts, and managing month-end physical inventory.

Ideally, the Plant Accountant should have a Bachelor's degree with a primary focus in Accounting. This position will require 15 - 20 days of travel per year.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Annual budget process preparation and execution.
• The monthly closing process for the plant including physical inventory.
• Tracking of weekly and monthly spending including labor hours.
• Creating financial reports that are distributed to plant leadership and corporate teams.
• Mid-month raw material inventory and product cycle-counts.
• Engaging in plant-level teams to understand the total scope of the business.
• Sales/ Use Tax reporting and accounting.

Nature and Scope:

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to monitor and evaluate policies and procedures to verify adherence by plant.
• Must be able to provide financial guidance to non-financial managers in simple and coherent explanations.
• Responsible for continuously improving the financial and budget process from an operations point of view.

Education and Experience:

• Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree with a primary focus in Accounting.
• Must possess strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook and Excel primarily) and the ability to grasp new software quickly.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
